About

About BOB Power

Built in southeast Indiana. Tested in the field. Designed for people who work outside.

BOB Basecamp started with a simple frustration: field work runs on gear, and gear runs on power — but nobody was building serious ground support equipment for the people who actually work outdoors. Drone pilots balancing monitors on tailgates. Photographers squinting at glare-washed screens. Field techs running out of battery at the worst possible moment, miles from the nearest outlet.

So we started building the missing pieces. A command station that sets up in minutes and holds your whole cockpit — monitor, tablet, controller, power. A landing platform your drone can actually trust. Power distribution built for a day in the field, not a desk. Gear that works as hard as the people using it.

BOB started as shorthand for "Battery Operated Box" — the first prototype was exactly that. The name stuck because the idea stuck: self-contained, field-deployable, no outlet required.

How We Build

We're a small company, and we build like one — which is an advantage, not an apology.

Field-first design

Every product gets used in real conditions before it ships. If it wobbles in the wind, glares in the sun, or takes too long to set up, it goes back to the bench.

Physics over promises

We publish load ratings and compatibility guidelines and we mean them. If a setup isn't stable enough to trust your aircraft to, we'll tell you — even when it costs us a sale.

Built to be repaired, not replaced

Standard fasteners, standard mounts, standard threads. Your gear should outlast your drone — probably several of them.

Who It's For

We build for drone pilots first — surveyors, inspectors, mappers, content creators, SAR teams — but the field doesn't care what your job title is. Photographers, filmmakers, overlanders, field technicians, race teams: if your office is wherever you parked, BOB Basecamp is built for you.

The Company

BOB Power Inc LLC is a family-owned company based in Sunman, Indiana, part of a family of ventures built around one idea: practical tools for people doing real work. We design our products in Indiana, fabricate with American partners where we can, and answer our own support emails.

We're not the biggest name in the drone space. We're the ones in the field next to you, checking the wind.
